Who we are
First Baptist Preschool is a nonprofit, Christ-centered preschool operated as a ministry and service of the First Baptist Church of Alliance, Ohio, serving children and families throughout our community. With a legacy of more than 50 years, we are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality early childhood program where children are loved, supported, and prepared for lifelong success. Owned and operated by First Baptist Church, our preschool is guided by a caring administrator who oversees daily operations and ensures consistent, dependable care rooted in Christian values.
As a privately owned Christian preschool, our play-based curriculum focuses on the individual growth and developmental needs of young children while building a strong foundation for kindergarten readiness. Lessons align with Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards and are enriched through simple prayers, songs, and Bible stories that emphasize kindness, honesty, and God’s love. First Baptist Preschool is open to children of all races, religions, creeds, and national origins, and we welcome every family with compassion, transparency, and a renewed commitment to faith-centered care you can trust.
Mission
The mission of the First Baptist Preschool is to provide quality Christian care by:
Being kind
Telling the truth
Helping others
Nurturing Christ-like behaviors
And promoting Christian values to the children as we teach them about God’s love through our words and deeds.
Meet our Director
Mrs. Emily Baker
We are fortunate to have Mrs. Emily Baker as the director of First Baptist Preschool, who brings a warm heart and a wealth of experience to our community.
Mrs. Baker earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Kent State University in 2004 and has spent her career supporting children and families through substitute teaching, tutoring in reading and math, and serving as a program manager at Sylvan Learning. She joined First Baptist Preschool in August 2019 and quickly stepped into a lead teacher role in the toddler classroom. Over the years, Mrs. Baker has continued to grow in her knowledge of early childhood development and best practices, always striving to nurture each child’s growth with care and intention.
Outside the classroom, Mrs. Baker is a devoted wife and active church member in North Georgetown, where she attends with her husband and their parents. She is a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren – with one more on the way! Her love for Jesus shines through all that she does, and in her free time, she enjoys cooking, crocheting, and spending quality time with her family.
